At Innolumis, our luminaires are normally packed individually in cardboard boxes to get them safely to the customer. However, for a recent large order, delivered via our partner Speer Infra from Naarden, we received a special request: can we do it differently?
Through this project, we came into contact with Vanhulley, a social and circular company with branches in Groningen and Goirle. They give old textile fabrics a second life by turning them into new products, together with people distanced from the labour market.
The result: a new, sustainable Innolumis product. For this project, 1,000 reusable fabric packaging bags were developed especially for the safe transport of our luminaires. This solution not only saves time in our production, but also makes things easier for installers: there is no more cardboard waste and unpacking is faster.
The luminaires are delivered in wooden crates, with the fabric bags supplied via a deposit systemsteem return to Innolumis. This allows them to be used again and again for new deliveries.
With this innovative approach, we save money, time en energy. At the same time, we underline our ambition as a sustainable company to actively contribute to circular solutions within the public lighting sector.
