Since 2008, the year Innolumis was founded, special light colours made their appearance in public lighting. The emergence of LED technology made it possible to apply new light colours in public spaces based on the right spectra for people, animals and the environment.
From then on, governments, businesses and institutions were given the opportunity to differentiate more in the choice of light colours for the design of squares, parks, streets, neighbourhoods and business parks.
The light colour Golden Orange is such a special light colour. The municipality of Katwijk chose this light colour for the Buitenwater, located on the Oude Rijn river. Used in the Mini-Victoria luminaire, only the street is lit and the facades of the houses and the water remain dark, minimising the disturbance to bats.
