The “Road of the Future” located on the east side of the city of Oss (the N329) was redesigned in 2012. In that year, this road won the DUBO award for the most sustainable project in the Netherlands. The redesign of this road had a sustainable and innovative approach and included a wide range of sustainability measures such as a CO2-neutral construction, the use of solar panels and boilers and innovative traffic systems.
The road lighting was led in that year, which meant considerable savings in energy consumption and maintenance compared to the old situation. Unfortunately, however, as the years went by, it became increasingly clear that this LED lighting used had glitches, which did not improve safety here and there.
The municipality of Oss was looking for a solution and asked Innolumis to create a new lighting plan for the busy traffic artery on the east side of the city. In early 2025, Innolumis then received the order for the supply of just under 300 Nicole luminaires fitted with components that enabled dynamic application of the lighting. In mid-2025, Konings Verlichtingstechniek from Ravenstein took care of mounting the luminaires on the existing lampposts where road closures were necessary to work safely and direct traffic. The Nicole luminaires themselves were finished in the colour RAL 9007 and the bright light colour 4000 Kelvin.
With the realisation of this new road lighting, the municipality of Oss saves even more energy compared to the previous situation and the road is again safely lit during the dark hours. In this way, the Road of the Future is also technically ready for the future.
