The Innolumis BIRD lamp has been specially developed to minimise disruption to migratory birds during their migration. This unique blue-green light colour contains up to 7% of red, maintaining visibility and road user safety while reducing disturbance to bird routes.
Indeed, many migratory birds orient themselves during their nocturnal migration by moon and starlight. Traditional white or reddish lighting can disrupt this natural navigation, causing birds to become disoriented and continue circling in illuminated areas with the risk of exhaustion or collisions. The blue-green light colour of the BIRD lamp more closely matches the natural spectrum that birds perceive without disrupting their migration patterns.
The BIRD lamp is available in both the Nicole and Victoria ranges but uses two different light construction systems:
- Nicole BIRD lamp: Composed of blue, green and red LEDs to achieve the desired blue-green light colour with limited red.
- Victoria BIRD lamp: Uses cyan and red LEDs which gives a slightly different light composition but with the same bird-friendly properties.
