The street lighting of the Utrecht municipality of Baarn is being renewed in phases. The area of this municipality comprises about 3,000 luminaires.
For some time now, the lighting has been tackled in parts and a special milestone has now been reached. Indeed, the thousandth luminaire for the municipality of Baarn was recently assembled at the Amersfoort-based social development company Metafors. Assembly and mounting is carried out in this sheltered workshop by people distanced from the regular labour market.
To celebrate this milestone, the councillor responsible for this municipality, Mark Eijbaard, paid a working visit to Metafors on 27 November last. During this working visit, the 22 employees showed how the assembly of Innolumis luminaires is done.
During the visit, the councillor expressed his appreciation to Metafors employees. The visit was further graced by offering a tasty cake.
In the coming period, the remaining 2,000 luminaires will also be replaced in phases by Innolumis lighting, as a result of which the municipality of Baarn will save a lot on the energy and maintenance bill for public lighting.
