Project

Site lighting Schiphol Airport

Description

Our national airport Schiphol is one of the most illuminated places in the Netherlands. It is also one of the biggest energy consumers. That is why Schiphol started energy-saving programmes years ago to drastically reduce consumption.
The move to LED lighting was therefore quickly made. Sustainability and many maintenance and energy savings were important drivers to make this happen. Both indoor and outdoor lighting were scrutinised.

First up was the re-lighting of the Schiphol staff car park. P40 became a testing ground.
Innolumis was asked to create a plan of action for this.

After approval by the airport's technical department, the outdated sodium lighting was replaced by many hundreds of Nicole luminaires in the light colour White Moonlight.
The result was amazing; significant energy savings, reduced light pollution, an increased sense of safety and satisfied staff.

Following this success, Innolumis lighting was installed in more places at the airport. Thus, many kilometres of cycle path were equipped with the special light colour White Moonlight with a high degree of colour recognition.
