The Brabant municipality of Boxtel, located in the so-called Groene Woud, the “green”’ triangle between the cities of Eindhoven, Tilburg and den Bosch, was 1 of the first municipalities to start applying Innolumis lighting throughout its rural area during Innolumis' early years.
The mostly greenish street lighting had to enhance the green character of the area while also taking into account avoiding unnecessary light nuisance to the surrounding area.
The special lighting was widely rolled out with its role explained at regularly organised residents' meetings.
The lighting was used on cycle and footpaths as well as along country and through roads.
By applying this type of lighting, Boxtel municipality became a municipality that dared to break with the traditional light colours applied in public spaces until then.
