When it comes to public lighting, the Goirle municipality has focused on energy saving and social and traffic safety for many years.
The social safety aspect applies especially in the built environment where people meet, during the day and also in the evening. Socially safe public lighting is then essential.
Traditionally, cone luminaires have been used in most residential areas in the Netherlands and so too in the municipality of Goirle.
Years ago, after a trial period, the municipality chose the Innolumis Ariane as the standard luminaire at a light point height of 4 metres. Good uniformity and a calm light image on the street were decisive in this choice.
By now, most residential areas in the various cores of the municipality have been fitted with the Ariane. Besides providing a safe living environment, the installed luminaires also make a major contribution to the municipality's energy-saving targets.
